Softwash Equipment & Supplies

What is softwashing? Softwashing or "softwash" is not a new industry, but it is an extremely fast-growing industry. Softwash is most often used in more humid environments where moss, mildew or lichens have lots of moisture to grow such as roofs, siding and commercial facades. A common practice is softwashing homes or commercial buildings. Operators will use a bleach concentrate and foam solution with a combination of water, diluted bleach (or sodium hypochlorite) and other additives. Depending upon the application, operators will raise or lower the dilution rate.

Comet Pumps is a leader in the industry with their P36GR diaphragm pump, a pump specifically designed for the softwash industry. You will be hard-pressed to find a more robust diaphragm pump for softwashing applications. Comet's pumps have buna diaphragms which actually hold their form much better than Viton® or Desmopan diaphragms - you don't need to spend the extra money for those high-end products. Buna has been around for many years and it has great chemical compatibility with sodium hypochlorite solutions under 20% dilution rates. Most softwash applications don't ever come close to this rate. Don't let someone steer you towards unnecessary expenditures. We can line you up with a quality diaphragm pump that won't break the bank for your softwash operation.
